Well it looks like 2009 is out for us and we will be staying home in Oregon during the canoeing season. But my son and I have started planning for our 2010 trip to Quetico. ;D We want to cover some of the hot fishing areas from past trips#43 McAree ,Wicksteed & William but add some areas we haven't been to yet.... we want to try a different exit....we have come out at Prairie Portage the last 3 trips. Anyone else have plans this year or next? fishguts

I enter Aug 8th at Prairie Portage Agnes permit. Going with my son providing, he doesn't get called to the Navy before the trip. If he does then it will be a long solo trip. If my son goes along my trip will be cut to 14 days, if solo I'll be out 21. Heading up Agnes through the S chain to Kawnipi, McKenzie, Cache River, Kawnipi, Poets, Sturgeon, Allan Creek (unless it is dried up" to Poohbah, Magline, March, Trail, Bentpine, Burntside, Yeh, Lonely, Draper, Elizabeth, Halliday, Oilfaunt, Fern, Alice, Shelley, back into Agnes, East, Jeff, Basswood, Anchor, Poacher and out at PP. Buying all new gear this year light weight, food is all freeze dried except what we can catch. I'll note with a trip planned like this one, things are always subjected to change. By being in mid Quetico, we/I have a lot of options. It's kind a bittersweet, I want my son to go. However, 21 days solo in the Q is a dream trip that's not an option to many. Nearing the 50 mark I figured it best to get with it before the body goes to heck. Oh! Wait it already has ;D I bought a Wii at Christmas and work out almost every night getting into shape. My wife laughs at me when I do the yoga, but I always tell myself he who laughs last laughs best and that's exactly what I'll be doing in the Q this summer.
