Hey! I love sites that talk about Quetico. My next trip is scheduled for June 2008, entering through Lac Lacroix. We are after Largemouth, Smallmouth, Eyes, Trout and maybe a Northern or 2. ;D Anyone have any favorite entry points on the Western side of Quetico? Great campsites, fishing spots?

it definitely is nice to find groups of like minded people to daydream and talk about the north with when we can't be in the bush :-)
The only western entry I've done so far is Beaverhouse, although have considered going to the Reservation and coming up the Maligne River or come down Sturgeon and out the Maligne...future idea is all!!
Will be entering the park on the 7th at Bhouse....trip report and pics to come soon! At least on QJ for sure ;-)

Quetico For Life, I would love to hear how your trip goes, I have never entered at Beaverhouse.
Please post a copy or link on this site too!

I did the Lac La Croix entry in 06 it was a nice route. But the expense of the long tow I personally think PP is a better option for a southwestern entry. Basswood River Entry Point, you can get a tow to Jackfish Bay for about 1/2 what the Lac La Croix tow will cost. Tow out early and be at the first river portage by 10 am. Easily make Argo by noon the next day. By the way if you opt to go this way there is a short cut to Agro.
